The Decision Process System For Engineers

The Nine elements of engineering decision making are :

1. Recognition of problem
2. Definition of the goal or objective
3. Assembly of relevent data.
4. Identification of feasible alternatives.
5. Selection of the criterion for judging the alternatives.
6. Construction of the model.
7. Prediction of outcome for each alternative.
8. Choice of the best alternative to achieve the objective.
9. Post audit of result




Everything that we've stated about the decision making process generally applies in engineering decision making. There are, however, some details specific to engineeering decision making which are discused in the sections below.
